- Speculation on Art of Bengal School -
The experimental painting technique called [Mōrō-tai](Blurred picture) pioneered by Yokoyama Taikan and Hishida Shunso, renowned [Nihonga] artists in the Meiji-era(1868-1912),crossed the sea to Bengal of India. Through their contact with the work of them, Bengal School artists developed their own [Wash(technique)], creating a deep connection between modern Japanese painting [Nihonga] and [Bengal School]. Many of these color works have been drew and exhibited in India. I continue to try to connect to new expressions by making full use of painting materials in my own way, by learning Bengal School [Wash(technique)] derived from [Mōrō-tai].
