PROFILE

MISAKO SHIN É

“Vipassana” [means observing things as they are],  is the one of the oldest meditation methods in India. Once I experienced meditation for only one month and it became an unforgettable surprising event which still has  the great influences in my painting turquoise series “Flower”(symbol of repeating life) .  The scene which I actually have never seen and the invisible world make the basis of my work.  I think drawing a picture is the work to externalize vague things. For more than 30 years since I went to India first time, I have been wandering to India almost every other year, and although I have no longer similar experience of my first meditation experience, I think my work must always be a novel and living painting.
